Site overinspection activity continues on those safety-related purchase orders for which equipment has been received at the jobsite. Serial 30329 82-16 #9 As a result of inspection activities associated with this 10CFR50.55(e) issue, a potentially reportable condition has just been detected and evaluation is still being conducted. The condition is as follows:
When the cover on the electrical termination compartment on ITT General, Model NH-91 and NH-95 valve operators is screwed on, it is damaging the insulation on a lead of a capacitor which is in the motor start circuit.
This could result in shorting of the capacitor to the metal cover, inhibiting the function of the valve operator. Additional information on this condition will be provided in subsequent reports.
Another letter, either interim or final, will be sent on or before December 31, 1984.
