.This letter is an interim 10CFR50.55(e) report regarding the use of shear lugs in embedment design.
Bechtel' Engineering investigations indicate that the use of shear lugs outside
.the compression zone is an ettective design technique and that no Midland project safety concerns exist as a -result at its application.. Consumers Power Company is reviewing the investigation reports.
Another report, either interim or tinal, will be submitted by September 28, 1984.
