SUMMARY

OF THE APRIL 19, 2005, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE POINT BEACH END-OF-CYCLE PLANT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT On April 19, 2005, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a public meeting at the Two Creeks Town Hall in Two Creeks, Wisconsin. The meeting was between NRC Region III Management and Nuclear Management Company representatives to discuss the NRCs End-of-Cycle Assessment of licensee performance. The meeting notice and NRC presentation can be found in ADAMS as ML050760328, and ML051150228 respectively. A list of NRC and licensee meeting participants can be found in the attached Enclosure.

The NRC began the meeting with an overview of the NRCs Reactor Oversight Process and the Action Matrix in general. This was followed by a discussion of the NRCs assessment of Point Beachs performance in calendar year 2004, which is documented in the March 2, 2005, End-of-Cycle assessment letter. The NRC also discussed upcoming inspections and activities at Point Beach, related to Confirmatory Action Letter follow-up.

The licensees presentation responded to the NRCs assessment documented in the March 2, 2005, End-of-Cycle letter, and specifically addressed their efforts to resolve the documented substantive cross-cutting issues in problem identification & resolution and human performance.

The licensee high-lighted recent examples that demonstrated the effectiveness of their corrective actions taken to address the substantive cross-cutting issues.
