Unit 1 Alab;ma Pow r Company (APC) is in the process of inspecting, testing and s
anay1 zing concrete expansion anchors utilized in safety related seismic rategory I piping systems as a result of IE Bulletin 79-02. APC is attempting to inspect, test, and analyze 100% of these concrete expansion anchors.
The following procedures that are beiag used by APC for inspection and testing of the concrete expansion anchors were reviewed:

FNP-1-GMP-48 Rev. 0 - As Built Henger Attachments and Baseplate to Concrete Gap Verification A portion of the inspection and testing that was being performed on hanger mark (mk) no. SI-R-246 was observed. Reverification of some of the inspection and test results for hanger mk. nos.
SW-R945, AW-R73 and AW-R82 were observed.
Banger ak. nos.
SS-2630 and CV-R338 had preliminarily been identified as inaccessible. However, inspection of the hangers revealed that the interferences could be moved to allow inspection and testing. The licensee indicated that a review group had
- evaluate, on a case basis, all concrete expansion anchors that are identified as being inaccessible and determine the actior to
.,e taken to assure the final reliability of the affected concrete expansion anchors. The inspection and test records for hanger ak. n3s. SW-R945, AW-R-73 and AFW-R82 were reviewed.
A general spot auditing procedure, OQA-WP-21 Rev. O, is being utilized by site QA for auditing the concrete expansion anchor inspection and testing program. This procedure and QA report no. 79-8 were reviewed and discussed with site QA personnel.
No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.
