Independent Inspection Effort (Units 1 and 2)

The inspector conducted a two hour backshift inspection examining the safety-related instrumentation installation in the Auxiliary Building.

Several firestop penetrations were examined between the spreading room and the turbine building to assure there were no breeched seals.

Within the areas examined there were no items of noncompliance identified.

The inspector selected the live motors listed in Paragraphs 6c and 6d and the six motor operators identified in paragraph 6e for a quality records review. The records were examined to assure that the requirements of the QAM were complied with in the areas of receiving inspection, vendor certified tests, source inspection reports, storage, handling, storage inspections,

cleanliness, installation of specified component installation inspection and post installation protection.

Within the areas examined there were no items of noncompliance identified.

a The records were reviewed to assure that the requirements of the QAM and the contract specifications were met in the areas of receiving inspection, vendor testing, vendor certifications, source inspections, use of specified item, installation inspecti~ons and post installation protection. Fifteen nonconformance reports (NCR) were selected for examination to assure that the requirements of the QAM procedures were complied with in the areas of legibility, completeness, corrective action, retrievability and that the required QC and management reviews were completed. The NCR's selected were 1845, 1968, 1973, 1963, 1962, 1951, 1940, 1924, 1911, 1910, 1914, 1905, 1877, 1869, and 1857. The inspector examined QA audits SN-E-79-02, SN-E-79-03 and SN-E-79-04 to assure that the required audits were performed, that the deficiencies were corrected and that nonrecurrances action was included.

Within the areas examined there were no items of noncompliance identified.

Inspector Followup Item (Closed) Inspector Followup Item 327/79-60-01 Insufficient circuit separ-ation. The licensee has issued revision 4 of the Fire Protection Review

which corrects the wording on Table 1.2.

The licensee provided the inspector with a listing of the cables in the train trays to prove that there were no redundant A cables within the required twenty foot separation.

The inspector has no further questions. The item is closed.
