ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING

SUMMARY

On March 27, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a public open house at the Shippingport Community and Municipal Building in Shippingport, PA. The NRC conducted the open house to discuss its assessment of the safety performance at Beaver Valley Power Station, Units 1 and 2, for 2017. A notice of the open house was issued on March 9, 2018, and was posted on the NRCs external (public) Website. The meeting notice can be found in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) with Accession No. ML18067A113. ADAMS is accessible from the NRCs Website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html. The NRC displayed poster boards and was available to discuss its assessment of the safety performance of the Beaver Valley Power Station for the period of January 1 through December 31, 2017, as documented in our Annual Assessment Letter dated February 28, 2018 (ADAMS Accession No. ML18047A001). The NRC poster boards included background information on the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP) and plant-specific performance. Additional information relative to the NRC's Annual Assessment Process and the safety performance of Beaver Valley Power Station can be found on the NRC's website at https://www.nrc.gov/reactors/operating/oversight.html.
