I.EXECUTIVESUMMARY(Cont.)A.ProjectDirector(Cont.)TheProjectisnearingcompletionoftherevisedcashflowforecasttotheendof'heProject.Preliminaryresultsindicatethatthe1984cashflowwil1beinexcessofthe$675x106previouslyprojected.Inaddition,theeffortsexpendedinthedevelopmentoftheforecasthaveaddedassurance,thatthecurrent$3.37x10Projectestima.eisadequate.OnJuly27,1984,NMPCprovidedtheNRCwithastatusreportrelativetoNMPC'scommitmentstotheConstructionAppraisalTeaminspectionreport.SeveralitemswerenotcompletedbytheJune15,1984,scheduleddate;however,mostwerecompletedbyJuly27,1984,withthebalancetobecompletedbyAugust31,1984.TheCHOCheadquartersmanhourscontinuedtoincreaseduringthisperiod.ThismanagementdirectedSWECtoimmediatelyreturntotheplannedmanhourcurve.DuringSeptemberSWECisscheduledtobeutilizingasystemwhichprovidesweeklyreportingofmanhourexpenditures.ThiswillallowtheProjecttomorecloselydetectmanhourove.runsandtakepromptcorrectiveaction.MAJORPROBLEMSThefollowingisan.updatetothemajorproblemsdefineinlastmonth'sreport.l."Ourabilitytocontrolworkwithinschedulerequiressignificantimprovement."ThisitemisaddressedinseveralareasoftheSWECActionPlan.2."Despitestrenuousplanningeffortsandexcellentconduitproductionwehavefailedtoooenupadequatebacklogforcableinstallation."Theconduitproductioncontinuestobeexcellent;however,westillhavenotopenedasignificantcableinstallationbacklog.Engineeringwillissueby8/15/84aSystem/38computerreportwhichwillprovidedetailedinformationrelativetothestatusofeachraceway,andjunctionbox.Thisreportwillallowconstructiontodeterminespecificworkwhichmustbecomp',etedfortheraceway.3."Improvedplanningeffortsandprecisedefinitionofcomponents~~~withintestboundariesarerequired."ThisitemisaddressedinseveralareasoftheSWECActionPlan.4."RSIVmodificationsmtt".rbio"';atedverysoon."'etailedplanhasbeendevelopedtoresolvetheproblemwhichentailstheapplicationofacorrosion-resistivecladdingtotheaffectedarea.IthasalsobeenidentiiedthatvalvebodytestcouponswerenotheattreatedasrequiredbyASME.Tomeetcoderequirements,itmaybenecessarytocut-testcouponsfrom,hevalvebodies.

II.MILESTONESCHEDULESTATUSA.Enerization4160VDuringJuly,anumberofsystemswereturnedover.However,thebacklogofturnoverswasnotsufficientlyreducedtorecoverscheduletime.Furtherslippagewasexperiencedoncritical416OVswitchgearturnoverandtestingactivities.Overal1schedulestatusthroughJulyiseightweekbehindschedule.Astudyisunderwaytodeterminetheimpactofrequiredmodificationtohighpressurecorespray4160Vswitchgearmodificationuponthescopeoftnismilesone.Ithasalreadybeendetermined,thatthesemodificationswillnotimpacttheoverallschedule.B.C.CondensateDemineralizerThemilestonescheduleremainsatfourweeksbehindschedule.DuringJuly,themakeupwaterstorageandtransfersystemwasturnedoverandtestingwasinitiated.Nooverallprojectdelayisanticipated.ServiceWaterOverallstatusofthismilestoneremainsatthreeweeksbehindthroughJuly.Workconcentrationcontinuedtowardreleaseandoperationofthreeofthesixservicewaterpumps.ThescreenwellwasfloodedduringJulyinpreparationforpumpoperation.IntegratedFlushDuringJuly,theintegratedflushstatusslippedtosixweeksbehindschedule.Althoughsfgnificantpragress.wasmade,thelevelofworkcompletedwasinsufficientonanumberofcriticalsystemsinthesmallborepipingarea.Ithasbeenrecognizedthatafurthersubdivisionofworkisrequiredtopermittheintegratedflushscheduletobemaintained.Astudyhasbeeninitiatedtodeferworknotnecessarytosupportthe'integratedflushandRPVHydrotoapointlaterintheschedule.Thiswilloptimizetheapplicationofresourcestocriticalareas.E.TurbineGeneratorDuringJuly,animprovementofoneweekwasnotedonworkcriticaltosupportingthelubeoilflush.Overallstatusisnowoneweekbehindschedule.0 II.HILESTONESCHEDULESTATUSF.DieselGeneratorsThroughJuly,themilestonestatusremainedattwoweeksbehindschedulewithnoimpactprojecedtotheoverallschedule.G.RadwasteSystemAneffortisunderwaytoadjusttheradwastescheduleand"";cloparevisedworksequence.Statusagainstthebasemilestoneplanisthreeweeksbehindschedule.Forthebalanceofthemilestones,workproceededinsupporofthemilestonedateswith,nooverallimpactsnoted.l.2.3.4.5.FLowInducedVibrationVentilationIntegratedLeakRateTestFuelReceiptFuelLoad III.CONSTRUCTIONtA.GeneralOverall,Constructioncumulativeperformancerelativetokeyindicatorcommoditi.eswaspositiveinJuly.Thisisnoteworthy,consideringthehighlevel'sofabsenteeismexperiencedduringtheweekofJuly4.Themajorconstructioncommoditiesaredepictedinthefollowinggraphswhichhavebeenupdatedtoshowyear-to-dateandcurrentperiodperformance.
