NIAGARA MOHAWK POWER CORPORATION NINE MILE POINT NUCLEAR STATION UNIT #1 NARRATIVE OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE l

I The plant operated during the month of September 1998 with a Unit Availability Factor of 100.0% and a Net Design Electrical Capacity Factor of 94.4%. There were no challenges to the Electromatic Relief Valves or Safety Valves. Reductions in Capacity Factor were due to elevated lake temperatures and corresponding reductions in plant efficiency. Also, #15 Reactor Recirculation Pump was removed from service for preventive maintenance; the unit incurred a slight derate when returning the pump to

service, j
