NINE MILE POINT NUCLEAR STATION UNIT #1 NARRATIVE OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE l

l l

I The station operated during the month of March 1998 with a Unit Availability Factor of 100.0% and a Net Design Electrical Capacity Factor of 99.5%. There were no challenges to the Electromatic Relief Valves. Reductions in Capacity Factor included a power reduction to 51% on March 14,1998 to plug a leaking condenser tube. The evolution was I completed in 34.1 hours1.157407e-5 days
2.777778e-4 hours
1.653439e-6 weeks
3.805e-7 months
. Other reductions in power were associated with #13 Reactor Recirculation Pump being removed from service for maintenance work and a downpower to start the pump (which was aborted due to equipment problems.) On March 6,1998, the i

unit was administratively derated (6 to 10 Mwth) for the duration of the month due to conservatism regarding rated thermal power. The unit was also derated slightly to perform ,

Turbine Stop Valve Testing. l l
