U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn.: Document Control Desk Washington, D.C. 20555 Docket No. 50-293 License No. DPR-35 The enclosed supplemental Licensee Event Report (LER) 97-023-01, "Both Radwaste Building Trucklock Doors Closed Resulting in a Configuration inconsistent with Tornado Depressurization Analysis Assumptions,"is submitted in accordance with 10 CFR Part 50.73.
This letter contains the following commitments:
- Develop a formal program to control compartment barriers.
- Develop and conduct training for Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, instrumentation and Controls and others deemed appropriate to improve their understanding of /
subcompartment analyses and the need to maintain control of subcompartment barriers.
l In LER 97-023-00, we committed to implement a program to control compartment barriers by March 30,1998. Development of that program is complete and full implementation, including training, will be completed by July 17,1998. p Note that we elected to remove the wooden Radwaste Building trucklock doors rather than confirm their acceptability.
