Dear Mr. Gipson: ;
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. J. H. Neisler of this office on October 7-10, i
28-31, November 4-7, 18-21, and December 12,1996, at your Fermi 2 nuclear facility. l
At the conclusion of the inspection, the inspection results were discussed with those l
members of your staff identified in the enclosed report. ;

The inspection examined your activities relative to the rebuild of the main turbine, l
refurbishment of the Station Blackout / Appendix R combustion turbine, materials )
engineering relative to equivalent parts evaluations and your activities to correct main '
steam line vibration problems.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter j
and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Ro'am. '
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection. Your
cooperation with us is appreciated.
