NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-341/96012(DRS)
Dear Mr. Gipson:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. J. H. Neisler of this office on October 7-10,

28-31, November 4-7, 18-21, and December 12,1996, at your Fermi 2 nuclear facility.
At the conclusion of the inspection, the inspection results were discussed with those
members of your staff identified in the enclosed report.
The inspection examined your activities relative to the rebuild of the main turbine,
refurbishment of the Station Blackout / Appendix R combustion turbine, materials
)
engineering relative to equivalent parts evaluations and your activities to correct main
steam line vibration problems.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter

and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Ro'am.
