DPR 42 50 306 DPR 60 Supplemental Information With Respect to Response to item of Concern Reenrdine Personnel Errors Inspection Reports No. 282/89026(DRP) and 306/89026(DRP), transmitted by letter dated November 14, 1989, contained an item of concern regarding personnel errors at Prairie Island. Our response to that item of concern was included in the December 27, 1989 response to Inspection Reports No. 282/89026 and 306/89026.

In that response we described actions that were being taken by the General Superintendent of Plant Operations to increase awareness of all operators to the critical issue of attention to detail and to more closely involve Shift Managers and Shift Supervisors in all operator activities. One of the actions discussed was the preparation of a seminar to be conducted in early 1990, with videotapes on attention to detail and observation techniques for supervisory personnel.

Due to time constraints encountered during the February 1990 Unit I refueling outage and the subsequent promotion of the individual in the General Superintendent of Plant Operations position to a nee off site position, this training was not completed until July 19, 1990. The NRC Resident Inspector was informed on May 29, 1990 of the delay in the completion of this training.

All other actions associated with this item of concern have been implemented.
