SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE FOR JANUARY 1996 The unit began the month operating at 100% power. On January 16 at 0537 hours0.00622 days <br />0.149 hours <br />8.878968e-4 weeks <br />2.043285e-4 months <br />, the 2400 volt AC power automatically transferred from the normal power source (safeguards power) to the backup power source (startup power). At 2100 hours0.0243 days <br />0.583 hours <br />0.00347 weeks <br />7.9905e-4 months <br /> on January 16 a Notification of Unusual Event (NUE) was declared as a result of the shutdown required by Technical Specifications. The unit came offline at 0450 on January 17. Upon investigation a fault was discovered in the power supply cable to the 2400 volt "D" bus which runs in conduit under the Turbine Building between the Safeguards bus and buses *c* and "D".

At 2211 hours0.0256 days <br />0.614 hours <br />0.00366 weeks <br />8.412855e-4 months <br /> on January 30 the unit was brought back online.
