SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE FOR FEBRUARY 1997 The Unit began the month in a continued shutdown condition. The reactor went critical on February 7 at 1605.bours. and.online.febr.uacy. 8 aL1840 bours.-.On Febr.uacy.10 aLOS-45 the.Unit.was.aUOO.%.poweL.

On February 11 at 1916, the Unit began to reduce power in 10% increments to evaluate and reduce the vibration on the main generator bushings. Subsequently, the power was reduced until it was decreased to 49% power on February 12 to monitor the vibration. The Unit remained at 49% power until February 17, when the Unit was taken offline at 0202 due to a hydrogen leak in the generator. The reactor remained critical during the forced outage.
