Dear Sir:

Our letter of March 30, 1977 proposed amendments to the Oconee Nuclear Station Technical Specifications to assure the operation of the Oconee 1, Cycle 4 core within applicable fuel design and performance criteria.

Subsequent to this proposal, the design cycle length for Oconee 1, Cycle 3 was extended to 312 EFPD as described in our letter of July 27, 1977. Actual cycle length achieved was 308 EFPD.

A re-evaluation of the proposed technical specification limits for Oconee 1, Cycle 4 has been performed and it has been determined that the proposed limits continue to be valid except that the time of the transient control bank (group 7) withdrawal would have to be modified.

The transient control bank will now be withdrawn at 235 i 10 EFPD rather than the originally proposed 250 i 10 EFPD. Please find attached replacement pages for our proposed amendment which indicates revisions to the figure titles.
