Duke Energy Corporation Oconee Nuclear Station Units 1,2, and 3 Docket Nos. 50-269/270/287 McGuire Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-369/370 Catawba Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-413/414 Duke Power Company Nuclear Security and Contingency Plan Submittal of Revision 9 Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.4 (b) (4), enclosed are four copies of Revision 9 to the Duke Power Company Nuclear Security and Contingency Plan.

The effective date of Revision 9 is April 26, 1999.

The changes reflected in Revision 9 are being submitted pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54 (p) (2).

The entire Nuclear Security and Contingency Plan is superseded by Revision 9.

Submittal of the entire document is necessary due to text formatting differences resulting from conversion of the document to a text True Font.

A Synopsis of Changes is included to facilitate review.

Details on the implementation of each change are documented and available for inspection.

These changes do not decrease the safeguards effectiveness of the Nuclear Security and Contingency Plan.

Revision 9 contains Safeguards Information and is subject to 10'CFR 73.21 requirement restrictions.
