Oconee Nuclear Station Docket Nos. 50-269, -270, -287 Reply to Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalty On September 25, 1997, Duke Energy (Duke) submitted a reply to Violation D, concerning a failure to assure that the design basis for the valves in the Unit 1, 2, and 3 Letdown Storage Tank instrument lines were correctly translated into station procedures. This letter is being submitted to update a commitment made by Oconee in response to the subject violation.

By letter dated March 26, 1998, Duke Energy provided an update to the proposed corrective action to develop valve checklists for critical applications of instrument valves with a planned completion date of August 31, 1998. While the specific corrective action to develop the valve check list, has not been completed, significant progress has been made. The planned D completion date for this commitment is March 1, 1999.
