QA/QC Xnspector Qualifications File: 85-001-350 Reference:

Letter ANPP-31811-WEX/TGWJr, dated January 28, 1985

Dear Sir:

ANPP is currently reevaluating the results of verification activities generated during the investigahion of subcontractor QA/QC qualifications as reported in the referenced letter. The original reverification of credieptials for one contractor's personnel'as based on,a sample of personnel as noted in the letter.Additional employee verification data provided by that contractor, subsequent to the issuance of the referenced letter, has revealed discrepancies with verification of education and experience of NDE personnel without complete resolution of the indicated deficiencies.

While this does not necessarily mean that the individuals were not qualified, insufficient information was supplied to justify that certification.

Additionally, in preparing a final report to substantiate the subcontractor verification, some additional follow-'up by ANPP appears to be prudent to ensure all aspects of this issue have been properly addressed.

This activity will involve a reexamination of those contractors excluded from the reverification program, as well as some audits to ensure the subcon-tractor's reverifications were satisfactorily completed.

Based on infor-mation reviewed to date, no major problems are anticipated in these follow-up activities.

Very truly yours, 85050703i3 8504ii PDR ADOCK 05000528.8 PDR E.E.Van Brunt, Jr.Executive Vice President Project Director EEVBJr/WEX.:skc cc: See Page 2 Ite zE al-
