PRAIRIE ISLiND NUCLEAR GENERATING PL\NT Docket No. 50-282 License No. DPR-42 50-30' DPR-60 Environmental Event Report 79-05 Cooling Tower Operations - June Under TS B-5.4.2.A, we are furnishing two copics of this Environmental Event Report covering operation of the plant circulating water system in the partial recycle mode with daily average blowdown flow in excess of 150 cfs.

Daily average blowdown flow in excess of 150 cfs was required 26 days during the month of June. Excess flow ranged from 155 cfs on June 18 to 452 cfs required on June 20. The daily blowdown flow rate average for the month was 268 cfs.

The higher fleus were required to accommodate cooling tower preventative maintenance and to maintain cooling water inlet temperatures at less than 850F.
