Farley Nuclear Plant - Units 1 and 2 Unresolved Item 348, 364/85-15-01 This letter supercedes and cancels my letter of March 24, 1986 on the same subject. This letter more succinctly describes our current R0-to-SR0 upgrade training program.

In March 1985, the NRC conducted a training effectiveness inspection l                                                       at Farley Nuclear Plant. During this review, unresolved item 348, 364/85-15-01 was identified. The NRC stated that there was " apparent reluctance to implement the INP0 accredited program." NRC's concern centered on the training received by three licensed opeators who took the SR0 license examination on 1-28-85.

This method provides for waivering repetition of those portions of the classroom training which the trainee has previously completed, provided I the waivered portions were taught at the SR0 level and the trainee satisfactorily completes individualized reviews with progress exams. This alternative method was evaluated to ensure that it fulfills the requirements of accreditation such as objectives, monitoring and documentation.
