U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn.: Document Control Desk Washington, D.C. 20555 Docket No. 50-293 License No. DPR-35 The enclosed supplemental Licensee Event Report (LER) 97-023-01, "Both Radwaste Building Trucklock Doors Closed Resulting in a Configuration inconsistent with Tornado Depressurization Analysis Assumptions,"is submitted in accordance with 10 CFR Part 50.73.

This letter contains the following commitments:

• Develop a formal program to control compartment barriers.

• Develop and conduct training for Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, instrumentation and Controls and others deemed appropriate to improve their understanding of /

subcompartment analyses and the need to maintain control of subcompartment barriers.

l In LER 97-023-00, we committed to implement a program to control compartment barriers by March 30,1998. Development of that program is complete and full implementation, including training, will be completed by July 17,1998. p Note that we elected to remove the wooden Radwaste Building trucklock doors rather than confirm their acceptability. Also, note that the second commitment broadens the scope of our upcoming barrier control program to include additional plant personnel.
