In response to your letter dated September 1, 1988 resseding Brookhaven National Laboratory's contract with U. S, Nuclear Regulatory Commission to prepare a summary of radioactive effluents released during 1987 Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) appreciates the opportunity to verify the sceuracy of the draft data with respect to the Brunswick i
Steam Electric Plant (BSEP) before publication of the summary report.
l l The Company has reviewed Brookhaven National Laboratory's (BNL) summary i of radioactive effluents released frotn BSEP during 1987 and notes the following corrections:
- 1. AIRBCRNE AND LIQUID EFFLUENTS: Total Liquid Tritium Release should be 1.93E+01; therefore, BNL's reported value cf 1.72E+01 is incorrect.
- 2. SOLID EFFLUENTS: Estimate of Major Nuclide Co:rposition.
Type A Vaste Ni C3 fue January June should be 9.29E 01; therefore, BNL's reported value of 9.30E 01 is incorrect.
- 3. SOLID EFFLUENTS : Estimate of Major Nuclide Composition, Type C Vaste Co 60 for July December should be 4.12E+01; therefore, BNL's reported value of 4,13E+01 is incorrect.
- 4. SOLID EFFLUENTS: Estimate of Major Nuclide Composition.
Typo C Vasco Ni 63 for July - December should be 3.79E+00; therefore, BNL's reported value of 3,78E+00 is incorrect.
- 5. LIQUID TFFLUENTS - SUMMATION OF ALL RELEASES: Trittua Total Release for the 4th Qusrter should be 9.22E 0; therefore, BNL's reported value of 7.07E O is incorrect.
