By letter dated December 16, 2008, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) received the Florida Power Corporation application for renewal of operating license DPR-72 for Crystal River Unit 3 Nuclear Generating Plant (CR-3) in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Section 54.17. Notice of receipt of this application was published in the Federal Register on February 4, 2009 (74 FR 6060). The purpose of this letter is to forward the NRC staff's safety and environmental review schedule for the application (Enclosure).
