LOSS OF 0FF-SITE POWER At6:30a.m.(CDT), July 19, 1986, while the plant was in cold shutdown, lightning struck the main transmission line immediately adjacent to the plant, resulting in the loss of allz I off-site power.

i Both diesel generators automatically started, picking up all vital loads as designed.

Normal power was restored in 12 minutes. The licensee declared an Unusual Event, per its emergency classification procedures. The Unusual Event was' terminated at 6:42 a.m., when normal power was restored.

The resident inspector is on site.

The State of Wisconsin will be notified.

Region III (Chicago) was first informed of this event at 7:52 a.m. (CDT), July 19, 1986.
