Inspection summarv Inspection on September 3 and September 22-24. 1993 (Report No. 50-409/93001 (DRSS))
Areas Inspected:
Routine announced inspectior: of the licensee's program during the SAFSTOR phase of the Decommissioning Plan including operational safety (IP 71701), fire protection and prevention (IP 64704), radioactive waste management and transportation (IP 86750 and 84101), occupational exposure (IP 83100), emergency preparedness (IP 82701), management control (IP 83722) and training and qualification programs (IP 83723).
The Decommissioning Plan was implemented in December 1991.
Results:
One violation was identified in staffing levels for the LACBWR SAFSTOR organization.
Only one mechanic and one instrument and control (I&C) technician remained on the LACBWR staff when the Decommissioning Plan required three mechanics and two I&C technicians.
No other problems were noted and with the exception of the staffing levels, the licensee appeared to be successfully implementing the SAFSTOR phase of the decommissioning program.
