SEAL LEAKAGE -

At'3 a.m. (CST), January 25, 1986, the unit was manually shut down because of excessive seal leakage on Control Rod Drive 13. The unit was taken to cold shutdown to permit the removal and replacement of the control rod drive mechanism. The repair effort, including a primary system hydrostatic test, is expected to take more than 48 hours5.555556e-4 days <br />0.0133 hours <br />7.936508e-5 weeks <br />1.8264e-5 months <br />. The licensee hopes to restart the unit on January 31.

R;gion III (Chicago) will monitor the licensee's course of action.

The State of Wisconsin will be notified.
