IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTY - $25,000 By EN 87-10 dated February 19, 1987, the Commission was notified of the intent -

of the staff to issue a Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalty in the amount of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000) to Dairyland  ;

Power' Cooperative. This action was based on multiple' violations of NRC-

-requirements concerning the licensee's Safeguards Information Protection Program.

The licensee responded to the Notice in a letter dated March 25, 1987. After careful consideration of the licensee's' response, the staff has concluded that the violations did occur as set forth in the Notice of Violation and-Proposed

-Imposition of Civil Penalty.

Accordingly, an Order Imposing Civil Penalty in the amount of $25,000 has been-issued today. Under the terms of the Order, the licensee may within 30 days of the_date of the Order, pay the civil penalty or request a hearing.
