SHUTDOWN EXCEEDING 48 HOURS On November 26,1987, at 1:20 a.m., the licensee removed Unit 1 from service to repair a leaking manway cover on the secondary side of the "C" steam generator.
The Unit was cooled down, and the manway gasket was replaced. The Unit is expected to be back on line on December 2.
The NRC resident inspector will conduct a routine follow-up.
The Coninonwealth of Virginia has been informed.
The NRC received initial notification of thit, event by telephone from the licensee at 7:00 p.m. (EST) on November 25, 1987.
