MEDIA INTEREST IN GENERAL ACCOUNTING OFFICE REPORT The General Accounting Office (GAO) issued a report entitled "Need for Greater Regulatory Oversight of Commercial Low-Level Radioactive Waste" to the NRC Chairman on August 16, 1978.
