This letter is provided in follow-up to the referenced submittal of the Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) and a conference call held with the NRC staff on May 27, 1998.
The referenced submittal included a revision to the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR), Table 3.2-1, where the " Equivalent ASME B&PV Code Class" column for the Emergency Service Water Piping classification was changed from a "3" to " ". This ,
change in classification was questioned by the staff during their review. Further review !

Furthermore, the design requirements for the. structures, systems and components are driven by the " Code Class" and " Construction Code" columns.
Therefore, UFSA.R Table 3.2-1 will be revised to eliminate the " Equivalent ASME B&PV Code Class" column in our next UFSAR update, scheduled for November of 1998.
