DESI@l VEP.IFICATION PROGRAM a Attached is the Teledyne Engineering Services (TES) submittal, dated April 2, 1932, of the TES Phase I Program Managenent' Plan (the olan) for the Indeoendent' Desica Verification Program (IDVP) for Diablo Canyon Unit-1. The olan was submitted in resconse to the st.aff reouests, expressed at the March 25, 1982 meeting, for a single TES docunent with the following objectives:.. (1) consolidate, as appropriate, the earlier program plans submitted by, PG&E, dated December 4 '1981; R. L. Cloud Associates, dated March 1,1982; and TES, dated March 8, 1982; (2) include the additional elements identified at the Comission meeting on March 4,1982 (see SECY-82-89 dated March 1,1982, transcript 'of Comission meeting, nemo-fron S. Chilk to t!. Dircks dated March 8,1982); and (3) address issues and include TES comit ents identified during the neetings on, February 3, 'and March 25, 1932. Of narticular concern to the staff is the @ pro 6 ram and its implementation by TES and subcontractors to the IDVP activities thenselves. Ve reouest that your staff review the attached TES plan for the IDVP to assure that this consolidated and updated document meets the three staff objectives identified ab'ove. Since the earlier PG&E version of the program plan, with recomended staff modifications as described in SECY 82-R9, has. already been approved by the Commission and since most of the activities described in the a'? plan have been in progress for some time (and are near cmpletion in sme' 2 cases) it is inportant that the staff perfom this review without delay. 'To expedite the review we have provided advance coofes of the, program plan to your. orincipal staff that has particioated in the Diablo Canyon design verification eff6rt to.'date. "e recuest that your staff provide us with the results of the review by April 19, 1982. Imediately thereafter we will infom 4. Denton, by nem,.of our conclusions and recomendations, including a letter to PG/E and TES infoming them of our review results and need for additional infomation, if any.
