t A. PURPOSE This procedure provides the actions necessary for reporting, responding to, containing, and fighting a fire occurring at Hillstone Unit 3.

B. ENTRY CONDITIONS

1. Any indications of an actual fire existing in any area.

The following are indications that a fire is in progress:

1. Alarms on the control room fire console,
2. High temperaturt alarms.
3. Notificathen of Unit 1 or 2 fire pumps running.
4. Visual indication of smoke or flames.
5. Reports from personnel of fire.
6. Component alarms in conjunction with alarms on fire console.

a. Notify Control Room:

- Type of fire (A.B. or C) '

- Effected equipment

b. Check fire suppression systems (deluge or sprinklers) in operation in areas with such systems, i
c. If qualified, then combat fire with available extinguishers.
2. Announce the following over the site paging system:

"Attention Millstone Personnel, 3

Fire in (unit, building. elevation,

room, equipment, etc). Fire brigade respond. All other personnel stay clear." (Repeat)

NOTE

1. The Fire Brigade shall consist of five members from on-shift personnel, one of whom shall be designated as *.he Brigade Leader. All available Unit 3 Operators will respond to Unit 3 fire announcements. If more than seven operators are available, the remaining operators will report to the Control Room.
2. Refer to Attachment A for equipment locker and foam locker locations.
3. Firefighting Strategy books are provided at each fire locker and in Control Room. They provide a preplanned strategy for all areas. These strategies should be reviewed and may be modified as necessary by the Brigade Leader as situations warrant.
4. Communications should be established between the Control Room. Unit 1, and the Fire Brigade on the Unit 3 O&M frequency.
5. If a CO2 discharge is in progress, refer to OP3341C Section j 8.1 for guidance and Table 10.3 for areas affected. -

b. Direct Fire Brigade in fire fighting and rescue activities.
5. Notify Unit I and 2 Control Rooms of fire. Unit I will obtain outside assistance if needed. Unit I and 2 will provide backup brigade members,

14. Notify Unit I and 2 and the Security Shift Supervisor when the fire is out.
