1.
PURPOSE i
The purpose of this procedure is to provide RPV cooldown when required, but cannot be accomplished using normal shutdown cooling l
or other pressure control systems and all control rods are inserted beyond position 04.
Simultaneously, with implementation of E0P 579 "Alternate Shutdown Cooling", the operator is directed to exit E0P 570 "RPV Level Control, since E0P 579 "Alternate Shutdown Cooling" (ASDC) will d
intenticnally raise RPV water level above the band specified therein.
2.
ENTRY CONDITIONS 2.)
This procedure is entered from:
{
2.1.1 E0P 570 "RPV Level Control".
s 2.1.2 E0P 571 "RPV Pressure Control".
2.1.3 E0P 575 "RPV Level /Rx Power".
3.
OPERATOR ACTIONS 3.1 Initiate suppression pool cooling.
_ 3. 2 Close the RPV head vents, MSIVs, and main steam lini drain j
valves.
- 3. 3 Place the control switch for one SRV in the oper position.
3.4 Slowly raise (prevent Main Steam Line thermal shock) the RPV water Ivvel to establish a flow path through the open SRV back to the suppression pool.
NOTE 1
Injection source may be shifted from feed / condensate to ECCS at l
this time a
i 3.5 Start one CS or LPCI pump with suction from the suppression l
pool.
l NOTE i
j LPCI is preferred because of flow path through r, ore.

3.6 Slowly raise CS or LPCI infection flow into the RPV to the maximum.
]
3.6.1 If RPV pressure does not stabilize at least 73 psig above suppression chamber p.* essure.
THEN, start another CS or LPCI pump.
3.6.2 JFRPVpressuredoesnotstabilizebelow227psig i
j THEN, open another SRV.
3.6.3 IF the cooldown rate exceeds 100*F/hr THEN, reduce CS or LPCI injection flow into the RPV until the cooldown rate is below 100'F/hr, OR RPV pressure lowers to within 50 psig of suppression chahiber pressure; whichever occurs first.
3 l
l 3.7 Control suppression pool temperature to maintain RPV water temperature above 70*F.
