%: OCJ171978 > 3 14501 tillja ne: Docket No. 50466

  • e'".;,,1.M 5= h ust n, Texas 77060 To whom it May Concern: '"**

y Dear Sir; b j This letter is in reference to Docket No. 50*466. it is my wish i

to oe a participant at the Construction Permit proceedings of the Allens Creek Nuclear Project. 1 live at 14501 Lillj a, houston, i

j Texas, 77060. My home and work are within an approximately 50 mile radius of the planned project im Ft. Bend county. I wish to insure, l l

by my participation at this hearing, that my interests in the

'. f ollowing matters are protected. 1

1. The health, safety, and environmental impact of radioactive s

contamination of the air, seepage into the waterways of the Brazos alver of nuclear wastes, and the destruction of approximately j 5,000 acres of fertile f armland, creating a lake which will be of no s

4 ecological or recreational value to the area due to the expectant growth of j algae on the surface.

2. The dangers of transporting nuclear wastes and materials in

) and through the densely populated area of the nation's fourth largest j city, and the most dif ficult pooposition of finding a suitable storage or dumping site f or the virtually indestructable waste by-products

} of nuclear power plants.

s J/. The fact that nuclear power is expensive, and the costs ever j burgeoning will leave our future generations heavily indebted and negli-4 gibly compensated in their need f or safe, cheap, and plentiful energy.

4 j it is my hope that these points can be brought forth at the futu re

] date of the pooceedings, with such clarity and f orce of logical and j

ethic al reason, that the Allens Creek Nuclear Proj ect will not be again 1 aust delayed, but that all thought, mention and desire of this 1

disastrous concept will be totally disarmed. ,f 3 Acknowkdged by c:rd..lWO""*"~**

I wait to hear f rom you on this matter, g..:010%O
