Allens Creek Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 - Docket No. 50-455 Preliminary Safety Analysis Report Amendment 57 On May 1,1981, Houston Lighting & Power (HL&P) submitted Amendment No. 57 to the Allens Creen Nuclear Generating Station (ACNGS) PSAR in response to NUREG-0718, " Licensing Requirements for Pending Construction Permits and Manufacturing License."

During the period May 11-27, HL&P met with members of your staff to review the adequacy of Amendment 57. As a result of those meetings, a number of podifications were made in order to meet staff requirements as clarified'during the meetings.

The enclosed marked-up copy of Amendment 57 contains all modifications made during the review p'riod. Amendment 57 will be reprinttd in accordance with this copy and resubmitted on June 17, 1981.

Dear Mr. Denton:

Allens Creek Nuclear Generating Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-466 Preliminary Safety Analysis Report Amendment 57 Houston Lighting & Power (HL&P) hereby submits Amendment No. 57 to the Allens Creek Nuclear Generating Station (ACNGS) PSAR. The purpose of this amendment is to respond to NUREG 0718, " Licensing Requirements for Pending Applications for Construction Pennits and Manufacturing License".

As you are aware from Mr. G.W. Oprea's letter of March 25 to you, Houston Lighting and Power Company urgently desires to begin construction early in the second quarter of 1982. We ara prepared to support those activities necessary to enhance meeting this goal. We intend to station representatives from HL&P and Ebasco in Bethesda full-time during your review to provide technical clarification and insight into the content of our amendment.
