Chair John Ah'earne M L 77002 c/o Secretary of the Commission U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission y 7,,,j,,,,,,,,

Washington, D. C. 20555 May 13, 1980 Re: Commission Action on SECY-80-131 Allens Creek Nuclear Plant

Dear Mr. Ahearne:

I feel it is imperative that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission consider the impact of a " Class 9" core melting accident on the Houston area if it should occur at the proposed Allens Creek Nuclear Plant. Not only should it be considered by the Commission but the possibility of such an accident and its impact on the Houston area should be disclosed to the public.

The licensing board has not held a hearing yet, so there' is adequate time for the staff to make an analysis for the Allens Creek site.

Thank you for your assistance, l g Sincerely, g
