TML Action Plan Item II.K.3.3 -

I Reporting Relief Valve and Safety g

Valve Failures and Challenges to W

Dear Mr. Vassallo:

Your letter of April 1, 1982, requested that the District commit to providing prompt NRC notification of future failures of relief valves or safety valves. This letter is written to confirm the commitment as required.

Cooper Nuclear Station Technical Specification 6.7.2. A.5 requires prompt notification with written follow up in the event of " failure or malfunction of one or more components which prevents or could prevent, by itself, the fulfillment of the functional requirements of system (s) used to cope with accidents analyzed in the SAR."

Failures of relief or safety valves will be promptly reported to the NRC under this specification.

The District believes this Technical Specification and confirmation to be fully responsive to the requirements of Item II.K.3.3.

Sincerely, M
