Dear Mr. Madsen:
In accordance with 10 CFR 50.55(e), we verbally reported to your Mr. R. G. Taylor on March 30, 1981, deficiencies associated with the HVAC System supplying cooling to the rooms containing vital AC power converters and DC battery chargers.
On April 24, 1981 we submitted an interim report logged TXX-5307 which addressed the technical aspects of the deficiency. We advised you at that time that we, in conjunction with our AE's % staff, were examining the QA program aspects of this deficiency. We nave completed our examination and have concluded that the problem is not a result of a QA program deficiency, but a design evolution resulting from increasing loads and equipment qualification program considerations.
Our corrective actions will be completed as described in the TXX-3307 April 24, 1981 report.
