SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE FOR Tile MONTil DOCKET NO.: 50/A5 UNIT: CPSES 1 DATE: 8/11/99 COMPLETED BY: Bob Reible TELEPIlONE: 254-897-0449 MONTH: JULY 1999 DAY TIME REMARK / MODE 07/01 0000 Unit began the month at 100% power.
07/30 1553 I&C troubleshooting an "EllC Failure" almn caused a MWe drop. During the transient the MFP-1B Control valve jammed in e.n open position. Repairs of MFP-1B would require a downpower to approximately 50% power.
2137 Dispatcher released the unit to downpower to 875 MWe, 2200 Unit began downpower to 875 MWe.
07/31 0042 Completed downpower to 875 MWe to manually manipulate valve to try to unstick.
0145 Commenced downpower to approximately 600 MWe power to repair MFP-lB.
0358 Secure downpower at 64% power due to Rod Control urgent failure alarm. Trouble shooting of the Rod Control system was begun. Turbine load was increased as required for reactor control.
1124 Dispatch requested that the unit be held at 751 MWe to support system load.
1309 Reset Rod Control urgent failure alarm to withdraw bank D rods for Delta I control.
1935 Unit released by dispatcher and resumed downpo er to 50% power.
2156 Unit at 50% power to perform Main Feedwater Pump IB repairs.
2400 Unit ended the month at 50% power with repairs to the Main Feedwater Pump 1B in progress.
