Arkansas Nuclear One-Unit 2 Docket No. 50-368 License No. NPF-6 10CFR50.55 (e) Potential Significant Deficiency (File: 2-0520)

Dear Mr. Seyfrit:

On August 17, 1978, we reported to Mr. Tom Westerman, Region IV, the failure of a weld in a drain line in A LPSI loop as a potential significant deficiency.

The section of pipe containing the failed weld has been removed and replaced.

However, our Architect-Engineer has not completed a metallurgical examiretion.

We expect to be able to submit a final report detailing the results of the metallurgical examination and an analysis of the safety implications by October 10, 1978.

Sincerely, ,
