SUMMARY

OF THE APRIL 7, 2008, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE PRAIRIE ISLAND UNITS 1 AND 2 END-OF-CYCLE PLANT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT On April 7, 2008, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a public meeting at the Prairie Island Training Center in Welch, MN. The meeting was between NRC Region III management and Nuclear Management Company management to discuss the NRC=s assessment of Prairie Island Units 1 and 2=s safety performance for the period from January 1 through December 31, 2007. The meeting notice and NRC presentation can be found in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) as ML080740383 and ML081000444, respectively. A list of principal NRC and licensee meeting participants can be found in the Attachment to this letter.

The NRC began the meeting with an overview of the NRC=s Reactor Oversight Program (ROP),

Sincerely,

/RA/
