Federal Consistency Certification for Oyster Creek Generating Station

Dear Mr. Heyl:

The New Jersey League of Municipalities has been contacted by a number of our members and submits the following comments on the application by AmerGen for NJDEP's concurrence with its Federal Consistency Certification regarding the Oyster Creek Generating Station in Lacey Township, NJ. Although the League has not taken a formal position on the License Renewal before the NRC but we do support the land donation which includes the Park Proposal.

The station also has a long history of being a strong corporate supporter in the community. It employs approximately 475 men and women from the Ocean County area and provides electricity to 600,000 homes.

[n their certification, Oyster Creek offers a donation to Lacey Township of 220 acres of land on Finninger Farm. It is our understanding that this donation is contingent upon Coastal Zone Management Act consistency concurrence by the NJDEP.

The League of Municipalities support this land donation because it is good for Lacey Township and Ocean County as it provides the only public boat launch access in the towns and builds upon tourism in the area. The land donation offers recreational activities and environmental education to residents and visitors of the Jersey shore.

In conclusion, AmerGen's land donation is good for the entire coastal community and the State of New Jersey. The League of Municipalities supports AmerGen's donation of land.

Sincerely, Dave Delvecchio President and Mayor, Lambertville New Jersey League of Municipalities ser-Ving A."UMwipal (Cove"rJntnel' in. Neu, Iersey :tFine ~1
