Correction of Minor Errors in the Oyster Creek Generating Station License Renewal Application (TAC No. MC7624)

(1) "Application for Renewed Operating License," Oyster Creek Generating Station, dated July 22, 2005.

During the ongoing review of the Oyster Creek License Renewal Application by the NRC, AmerGen has identified a number of errors that we believe are minor and do not substantively affect the LRA. However, in order to be as complete and accurate as possible we are providing the attached tabulation summarizing them.

If you have any questions, please contact Fred Polaski, Manager License Renewal, at 610-765-5935.

I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct.

Respectfully, Executed on 03 loz.

Enclosure Summary ol Minor Text Errors Oyster Creekc Generating Station License Renewal Application (TAC No. MC7624)

Section 2.3.2.3 Section 2.3.3.11 Section 3.1.2.2.11 and Table 3.1.1 Section 3.3.2.1.15 Subsection 3.3.2.2.7.3 Subsection 3.3.2.2.13 Section 3.6.2.3.1 Table 2.3.4.2 Table 3.3.2.1.18 Table 3.3.2.1.29 Table 2.5.2 Table 3.5.1 1 of 3

Section 2.3.2.3 License Renewal Boundary Drawing LR-GE-885D781 was incorrectly listed as LR-855D78 1.

This typographical error has no impact on the LRA.

Section 2.3.3.11 The Containment Spray Heat Exchanger Hoists were inadvertently omitted from the text of this section. These hoists are in the scope of License Renewal and are subject to the aging management programs as are the hoists listed. This error has no impact on the LRA beyond the omission from the text of Section 2.3.3.11.

Section 3.1.2.2.11 and Table 3.1.1 In Section 3.1.2.2.11 and Table 3.1.1, item 3.1.1-20, BWRVIP-135 was incorrectly referenced as BWRVIP-139. This typographical error has no impact on the LRA.

Section 3.3.2.1.15 Under the Materials heading "Alumina Silicate" was incorrectly spelled "Aluminum Silicate."

This typographical error has no impact on the LRA.

Subsection 3.3.2.2.7.3 Specific identification of the Hardened Vlent System, Spent Fuel Cooling System, and Water Treatment and Distribution System was inadvertently omitted from the discussion. This change does not affect the LRA Chapter 3 aging management evaluations or the One-Time Inspection Program since these systems were included in the program. This error has no impact on the LRA beyond the omission from the text of Subsection 3.3.2.2.7.3.

Subsection 3.3.2.2.13 Subsection 3.3.2.2.13 states, "Periodic inspections are performed on elastomer door seals to identify detrimental changes in material properties, as evidenced by cracking, perforations in the material, or leakage." It should state, "Periodic inspections are performed on elastomer door seals to identify loss of material due to wear" to correctly reflect the aging effect/mechanism listed in Table 3.3.1, Summary of aging Management Evaluations for the Auxiliary Systems, for item number 3.3.1-28, "Elastomer seals and components exposed to air - indoor uncontrolled." This error has no impact on the LRA since the correct aging effect/mechanism was recognized (Table 3.3.1).

Section 3.6.2.3.1 The reference to "SAND 0944" is a typographical error; it should read "SAND96-0344". This error has no impact on the LRA.

Table 2.3.4.2 "Filter" and "Filter Housing" are included in Table 3.4.2.1.2 along with the appropriate information for each. These two Component Types were inadvertently omitted from summary Table 2.3.4.2. This error has no impact on the LRA.

Table 3.3.2.1.18 In Section 3.3, Table 3.3.1, Item 3.3.1-23 and associated LRA section 3.3.2.2.10.2 state that a One-Time Inspection program will be implemented to verify the effectiveness of the Water Chemistry program to manage the loss of material in copper alloy piping, piping components, and piping elements exposed to a treated water internal environment in the Heating & Process Steam System. For Component Types: Steam Trap, Valve Body, and Heat Exchanger; Intended Function: Leakage Boundary; Material: Copper/Copper Alloy; Environment: Boiler Treated Water/Auxiliary Steam (Internal); and Aging Effect Requiring Management: Loss of Material; 2 of 3

LRA Table 3.3.2.1.18 lists the One-Time Inspection program, but the Water Chemistry program was inadvertently omitted as an applicable Aging Management Program. This error has no impact on the LRA.

Table 3.3.2.1.29 The Heat Exchangers (Augmented Fuel Pool Cooling) in the Reactor Building Closed Cooling Water System have both stainless steel and carbon steel carrying bars that perform the structural support intended function. The words "Stainless Steel (Carrying Bars)" and "Indoor Air (External)" were inadvertently deleted fiom Table 3.3.2.1.29. However, the Associated Aging Effect Requiring Management, Aging Management Programs, NUREG-1801 Vol. 2 Item, Table I Item, and Notes fields were correctly populated. This error has no impact on the LRA beyond the omission of these entries in the two cells of the table.

Table 2.5.2 Transformers were inadvertently omitted from LRA Table 2.5.2. This omission was the result of a transcription error. Since transformers are defined as active components in NUREG 1800, they are screened out from further Aging Management Review and subsequent Aging Management Programs. Consequently, this error has no impact on the LRA beyond the omission from Table 2.5.2.

Table 3.5.1 The following text was inadvertently omitted from the Discussion for Item Number 3.5.1-21, "Cranes and hoists rollup into this item. For these components the Inspection of Overhead Heavy Load and Light Load (Related to Refueling) Handling Systems program is the applicable aging management program for the component instead of Structures Monitoring Program".
