SUMMARY Inspection on May 14-15, 1979 Areas Inspected This routine, unannounced inspection involved 8 inspector-hours onsite in the areas of rev:'ew of previously identified items of concern and followup on 10 CFR Fert 21 reports.

Results Of the two areas inspected, no apparent items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

Previously Identified Areas of Concern a.

(Closed) 78-24-01: This item pertained to control rod drive coupling.

The inspector reviewed Refueling Procedure FP-414 " Control Rod Drive Coupling and Closure Installation", approved April 20, 1979 and Surveil-lance Procedure SP-102 " Control Rod Drop Time", cpproved October 16, 1978. The licensee will further evaluate these procedures subsequent to the presently scheduled refueling outage.

The inspector stated that he had no further questions concerning this item, b.

(0 pen) 78-24-03: This item pertained to the use of non-fire retardant wooden ladders and scaffolding.

The licensee stated that this item was 90 percent complete. He also stated that there was an inadequate supply of fire retardant impregnated wood and that materials were still on order.

The inspector stated that he woulo discuss this matter with Region II management and would contact the licensee subse-quent to the inspection.

No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

10 CFR Part 21 Followup This licensee report, 10 CFR 21-2, submitted March 5,1979 pertained to pivo" bolts on ITE-Gould Kf 00 circuit breakers that were found to be torqued to less than the manufacturers minimum specified value.

The inspector reviewed licensee Nonconformance Operations Report NCOR 78-132 and Work

'equest M-2572 to verify that all ITE-Gould K 600 circuit breakers in

safety related systems were checked and that the pivot bolts were torqued to the recommended value.

To prevent recurrence, the licensee stated that it was their intent, as part of the normal preventive maintenance program, to check a sampling of these circuit breakers, prior to the completion of the next refueling outage, to verify that the pivot bolts remained torqued to the recommended value. The inspector stated that he had no further questions concerning this item.

No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.
