The noise was found to be related to position of GV-4. EHC system will be recalibrated to control GV-4 at a different position.

96-13 960531 F 2.6 B 3 N/A HA VALVEX Turbine / reactor trip due to loss of EHC oil pressure during performance of PT-325. The probable cause was turbine trip solenoid valve seat leakage. The problem could not be duplicated during subsequent troubleshooting.

Turbine hydraulic oil was tested clean.

SUMMARY

STATEMENT:

Crystal River Unit # 3 completed Refueling 10 on May 17.

, The unit was taken offline on May 19 for a turbine overspeed trip test. A turbine / reactor trip occurred on May 31 due to loss of turbine valve hydraulic oil pressure during performance of PT-325.

Three other power reductions occurred during this period.

Power was reduced to 76% on May 23 to replace limit switch arms for governor valves,90% on May 27 due to ICS reactor /

feedwater crosslimit, and 93% on May 31 to troubleshoot noise coming from governor valve GV-4.
