The most likely cause was arcing between the lower and upper coupling brushes due to carbon buildup in the brush holder post.

SUMMARY

STATEMENT:

There were five power reductions during the month of August.

! Power was reduced to 94% on 08/14 to repair HDV-61,60% on 08/20 due to CDP-1B uncoupled,85% on 08/26 to repair CWP-1 A discharge header,80% on 08/29 to replace trip test solenoid valves for RHV-2/RHV-8, and 40% on 08/30 to replace a damaged blower belt for TBHE-1.
