e . .o NOTICE OF VIOLATION During an NRC inspection conducted on May 20-24, 1985, a violation of NRC requirements was identified. The violation involved failure to maintain procedures current. In accordance with the " General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions,"10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1985), the violation is listed below:

Failure to Maintain Procedures Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 2, Technical Specifications paragraph 6.8.1 states: " Written procedures shall be established, implemented, and maintained covering the activities referenced below: . . . f. Fire protection program implementation . . . ."

Contrary to the above, Procedure 2203.09, " Fire Protection System Annunciator Corrective Action," Revision 0, dated June 26, 1981, Attachment A, 1-5-5, " Corridor by Emergency Control Room Chillers Zone Module," had not been revised to reflect deactivation of remote actuation by closing supply valve for deluge system automatic valve as a result of the granting of an exemption request to deactivate the automatic capability of this deluge valve.

This is a Severity Level V Violation. (Supplement I) (50-368/85-16)

Response

The procedure had not been revised due to an oversight at the time the valve position was changed. The procedure was revised May 23, 1985, to address the actions necessary to assure flow to the corridor by the emergency control room chillers, achieving full compliance. Previous fire protection program related exemptions will be reviewed and procedures will be revised as necessary. This review will be completed by November 30, 1985.
