' Suspensions of Licensed Operator Participation in Requalification Training

' This letter requests authorization for the following licensed operators to temporarily suspend their participation in the licensed operator requalification program at Limerick Generating Station, in accordance with Section ES-605 of NUREG-1021. " Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors," Revision 8.

Npmp Docket No. License No. License Exoiration James A. Hutton, Jr. 55-60708 SOP-10459-2 December 24,1999 Ronald W. Monaco 55-60215 SOP-10928-1 August 30, 2002 This request is made due to the operators' reassignment to full-time, career-enhancing duties at other locations, which makes it impractical for them to participate in the Limerick Generating 3 Station licensed operator requalification program.  !

1 James A. Hutton, Jr. has been uppointed as Director of Licensing at Nuclear Group Headquarters j at Chesterbrook. Ronald W. Monaco has been reassigned to the Amergen Ventures group. In i

- accordance with ES-605, the duration of these reassignments will be limited to a period of 24 months, or other specific action regarding the status of the operators' licenses will be taken.

i Prior to retuming Mr. Hutton and Mr. Monaco to licensed duties, actions will be taken to ensure  !

that each operator's qualifications and status are acceptable, i.e., the operators will be retrained,  ;

retested, reactivated, and determined to be medically fit for duty. The NRC will be provided with  !

certification of the successful completion of these actions, and the operators will not be retumed to licensed duties until confirmation of the NRC's acceptance of this certification is received. j 1
