REQUALIFICATION PROGRAM INSPECTION - BEAVER VALLEY 1 1

Dear Mr. Cross:

In a telephone conversation on September 3,1999, Mr. L. Briggs, Examiner / inspector, and Mr.

T. Kuhar, Supervisor of Licensed Operator Training, made arrangements for the NRC to inspect the licensed operator requalification program at the Beaver Valley Unit 1 Station. The inspection is planned for the week of November 15,1999, which coincides with your regularly scheduled requalification examination cycle. The staff at your facility should prepare and conduct the l requalification examinations in accordance with your NRC-approved requalification program. j In accordance with 10 CFR 55.59(c), the NRC may request facility licensees to submit their comprehensive requalification written examinations or annual operating tests as necessary to

support the NRC's inspection program needs. In order for the NRC to adequately prepare for  ;

this inspection, please fumish the exam seek schedule and the written examinations and l operating tests scheduled for the week of the inspection to the NRC by November 1,1999.

Mr. Kuhar has been advised of this request and was provided with the name and address of the NRC lead inspector assigned to this inspection.
